Help us take support beyond the gate.
Somebody in the communities you reach may be living with abuse and wondering whether anyone will understand. Together, we can make it easier for them to recognise what is happening and find a route to specialist support.
The people we want to reach are already part of your community.
They may be on your yard, at your event, in your veterinary practice or working in your business. Their animals, transport, home and livelihood may be part of what makes asking for help complicated.
We welcome organisations who want to help build a response that understands those realities. A partnership can begin with a practical contribution and grow around a shared purpose.
Abuse does not stop at the gate. Neither should support.
Bring what your organisation does best.
Reach rural communities
Offer space at an event, share awareness resources with your customers or members, or help information reach farms, yards and rural workplaces.
Make outreach possible
Contribute venues, transport, printing, equipment or funding that helps us take our work into more communities.
Strengthen professional responses
Host or fund training for your team, members or local professionals, so that more people recognise warning signs and know how to respond.
Support research and development
Help build the evidence and the foundations for future rural and equestrian advocacy, shaped by survivor and professional experience.
We will agree a clear purpose, realistic activities, responsibilities and ways to review progress together. Recognition and communications can be tailored to the partnership.
Learning from what was missed.
Founded by retired Detective Sergeant James Brannigan, The Katie Trust supports families across the UK and Ireland who have unanswered questions following a loved one's death or disappearance. Its work includes reviewing cases, advocating for families and seeking answers from the relevant authorities.
Together, Kirsty and James are developing professional learning that brings lived experience, rural and equestrian knowledge, investigative expertise and family voices into the same conversation.
Our shared aim is to help professionals recognise patterns of abuse, connect information that can become fragmented, and hear people earlier.
We would like to hear from you.
- Rural, farming, equestrian and racing organisations
- Businesses whose customers live and work in these communities
- Veterinary, farriery and animal welfare professionals
- Police, safeguarding, housing, health and domestic abuse services
- Researchers, funders, trusts and foundations
Could we have twenty minutes?
Tell us about your organisation, the communities you reach and what you would like to explore. We would love to hear your ideas and discuss what we could build together.
